Great shell - great color!

This is a beautiful jacket in a gorgeous orange/red color. It is a Goretex shell which will be water and wind proof. I pair this with a thin puffer jacket in black to match the accent color for colder weather. This jacket is very attractive and I am happy that I purchased this jacket and it is a very reasonable price for a Goretex product!

Excellent, relatively lightweight, shell

Just wanted to add another garment sizing datapoint: I'm 5'4" and relatively broad shouldered (35.5" upper torso circumference and 25" waist). The medium fit exactly as I wanted it to, with enough room to layer light insulation (an R2 or synthetic insulation) beneath the shell. I haven't tried a down insulation layer yet, but that should fit too. There's no gathering at the waist, the shell sits fitted at the hips, and the arms are a bit long, but not at all problematically so. A fantastic shell, as you'd expect from the material. There are elasticized dump pockets within the exterior zippered pockets to keep your stuff from emptying.

Keeps warmth in and repels rain and wind

Purchased this jacket for my girlfriend. We hike all year round and wanted a Gore-Tex jacket for her to use in rain and wind conditions. The Archangel is complete Gore-Tex and did very well withstanding against the rain and wind. It is a hard shell only, so be sure to have a base layer along with either fleece or puffer under and the Archangel jacket with work perfectly. Weather conditions used was during 9am at 28 degrees F with light rain and windy.

Unfortunately had to return it.

This jacket has great a colour and the material was beautiful and well made except for one area- the fabric came up too high in the neck/collar. It went up to nearly my eyes when it was fully zipped up. Other than that I would have loved this coat. I've returned it and plan to purchase another Gortex coat that is not the same model.

In love with this :)

Got this jacket for my multi day expeditions. Used it for a 4 day Juan de Fuca hike and it was great windproof. Although I have not used it in the pouring rain yet I have tested it under the shower and it held up! Love the colour and the dark blue pieces of fabric on the back and on the hood, it was a nice surprise when I got it since I didn't see that from the website pictures. Took a small knowing it was going to be a bit big so I could layer for my winter expeditions.
