I have been playing with this optic for the past few weeks and have found it to be extremely durable with a rock solid zero even after rough use. I use these scopes in the Limited division of 3 Gun and I love the combination of features on this optic. I think we have a real winner here!

This is my second one of these. I have an astigmatism where I see a blurry comma with traditional red dot sights and find that to be distracting and annoying. This Spitfire with the prism is the way to go for me because the reticule is very clear. A bonus with this reticule is if the battery were to die the optic is still useable because you can still see the reticule, it’s just not illuminated.
The five different red or green light settings seem to be suitable for any situation I’ve found so far from low light to bright light conditions. However the adjustment on/off dial is pretty stiff but it is positive. I can’t imagine it moving accidentally from whatever setting it was manually set to. Windage and elevation adjustments don’t stray from where you set them also.
The riser is removable and can be mounted lower on the weapon to get it closer to the bore if wanted or necessary.
Optic seems very robust, the optical clarity isn’t bad, and Vortex has one of the best warranties in the business. I’ve done my homework and read many reviews from several different sources and this optic has near universal five star reviews. In my opinion this is the best buy for the money for us who can’t swing an ACOG. Yet.

I own Aimpoint, Nightforce, Zeiss, now after using this I am asking myself why spend all the extra money when this red dot is assume for one tenth the money. I love the red/green reticle and the fact you can have the ability to aim if the battery goes dead, because the reticle is etched on the glass. Did I mention the cost from Euro optic was the lowest found on the planet.

Got a few of these for the AR pistols, nothing fancy just a pair of concentric circles, perfect for rapid acquisition at close distance. I rather this reticle rather than the small chevron of the Cyclops (too small at 1X).
The Illumination is very good with red and green available. The control is rather hard to operate. Would be nice to have it turn off and then automatically awake on use.
Europtic shipped really quick.

I've reviewed this particular scope several times now, on several sites. So briefly, I absolutely love it, so much so I own nine(9) of them among dozens of other Vortex pieces. Comes highly recommended. Purchase it without any fear of being disappointed.

I love it. Great price, easy to install, clear view, and the ability to increase the illumination. Once I adjusted the windage and elevation it was pretty much right on target. A few more tweaks here and there might be needed but it is a great optic. For a 74 years old man, with stigmatism this product will make shooting even more fun. Highly recommended.

Super price on a great prism scope. This is my third Spitfire 1X I’ve purchased. Etched reticle that works even if your battery quits on you, red/green daylight bright illumination and extremely clear glass. A rugged prism scope with the DRT reticle, add to that Eurooptics super fast shipping and what’s not to like about this optic gem.

I picked this up because I have an astigmatism and can’t use a regular red dot. This is super crisp and I love that I can still use it without batter. I shopped around and eurooptics price was by far the best. They’re also an authorized vortex dealer so no worries there!

It performs as I expected. Reticle is nice and crisp which I’m not used to due to astigmatism. Mounts up firm. May possibly get too bright unless aiming into a flashlight but has plenty of settings to find what is appropriate.

Mounted on my 9mm carbine for steel plate shoots out to fifty yards works very well for me. Prism sight always visible unlike red dots which need to be turned on. Also works well on ar15 for steel plates out to 100 yards. Sturdy scope clear glass for the price.

Love this little red dot! Replaced a bulky red dot with is little gem on my 300 BLK Pistol, sighted it in (easy process) and easily hit four inch steel plates at 100 yards. That'ill do for pigs! As usual, EuroOptic was super fast to ship it out and I got it only a few days after it was ordered.

To start, I have a stigmatism. I have read about a thousand reviews about red dots and decided the reason I can never get one I will be happy with is not the sight, but my eyes. I looked into the prism scopes and didn't like the reviews of the mounts on the integrated generation II spitfire and didn't want to be restricted from taking it off my AR and using it on a shotgun. i was kinda worried about the 3.7" eye relief using it for CQB sight. out of the box, I set it on the table pointed out the door at a beam and lined it up on a nail. I sat back, moved left, right, up, down...the dot never left the nail and everything stayed in perfect focus. That was only about 5 yds so parallax is excellent. Moving forward still perfection. Mounted it on my 5.56 AR and out the back door. 3 shot groups for sight in all touched each other at 25M. I was initially worried about the 2 circles and dot being too busy, but quickly found it very usable. The inner circle draws right on the bull and the dot has color all around it and bang. Zero held perfect all day. On the way back to the house I realized I never turned the power on while shooting. All it does is change the color and I was too happy with this sight to even gather more ammo and go back out. This is a badass little sight...now I need another for the Sub2000.

I love that it has zero magnification, and that the DRT (Dual Ring Tactical) glass reticle works without batteries. The bonus it has both red and green illumination. I picked this optic for steel challenge matches where quick target acquisition is a must for winning. After I purchased one and using it, I purchased another one.

This went on closeout when I moved from red dots to prisms. Even with no magnification it was a no Brainer how easily the bullseye reticle let me find the target on a 9mm carbine.
So I bought two more and a QD mount for one from American Defense Manufacturering. These prisms are sharp and durable with great glass. Even the lens caps are quality compared to some that snap that are OEM from other makers.

Very happy with this scope. Great deal on a scope that is no longer made and originally retailed for $400. I have owned 2 of the newer Vortex AR 1X Prism scopes that replaced this model and had serious fish bowl/eye waviness problems and object position refraction issues causing severe double vision 2 eyes open. Not with this original 1X Prism site though. Great site.
Buy one and check it out, then if you like it and can use more than one, buy more. This is the best deal on a red dot scope I have ever seen.

Excellent optic that is easy to use and great for persons with astigmatism. The etched reticle is just awesome. Not quite as compact as some micro red dots but i don't get the blur which makes it worth the little extra size.

Last year I had cataract surgery. The surgeon was unable to correct an astigmatism in my dominant eye so all my other red dots went out the window. With an astigmatism a typical red dot will be blurred or multiple dots. After some reading and looking through them at a sporting goods store I confirmed that I could sharply see the reticle through a prism type sight. There aren't many 1X prism sights on the market. They are not inexpensive. I choose a Gen 1 Vortex Spitfire 1X because it includes an adjustable riser. It fit the picatinny rail securely and was easy to zero. It is one of the most compact prism optics available on the market but the aperture is large enough to get on target quickly. I am pleased with this product and would buy again.

The Vortex Spitfire 1x is a perfect substitute for standard sights. Two eyes open is fine but there is some minor focal shifting is required
The optic is not only for those with astigmatism but also those with older eyes and corrected vision.
I shot iron sights on handguns for years wearing glasses but at about forty with progressive lenses sights in the distance vison became blurred. The intermediate portion of the glasses is very small and useless for gun sights. The option is a dedicated pair of glasses or an adjustable ocular.
I am very satisfied with this solution.

Have several of these on turkey guns and with an eye disease a typical red dot is out due to the halo effect. The Spitfire SPR-1301 is a prism scope with removable elevation piece to make it more low profile for a shotgun. Also, no illumination is needed but is there if you need it.. Great price on this very popular Vortex scope, along with fast shipping.

Great optic, especially for the price. Etched reticle is easy to pick up, even while illumination is off. Mounts super easy to rail. Only complaint is the size and weight are a little much for what it is. But again you get a lot of deluxe features but at a very reasonable price.

Perfect for users with Astigmatism who can't or don't like shooting with typical red dot or holo sights due to flare or smearing or the dreaded holo "ring of fire". While I would prefer the larger heads up view of your typical holo sight, this serves as a capable replacement, and with the newer versions coming out, the original is a bargain to boot.

After reading many reviews praising Vortex products their warranty and customer service I found this amazing deal. With the reticle etched on the prism, it works even if battery fails. For my PSA Marauder AR pistol this is perfect, as there is no room on rail for backup sights. Yes I was concerned about this not being made in U.S.A.. But the U.S. Army just awarded Vortex a contract for optics. Controls are simple (twist turret knob R/L for red/green and brightness). Hope they're still in stock. I want another.

I already own the Vortex Spitfire 3x and was looking for the 1x for another rifle. The 1x and 3x are both being discontinued. I can't speak to Vortex's higher priced replacements, but the 3x is so good that I wanted a 1x for another rifle. Eurooptic is the only vendor I could find who still had it in stock, and at an amazing price. For someone who has astigmatism, I use it in place of a red dot and and it's a high quality product. I've shopped at Eurooptic before so I knew that the transaction would be seamless and the shipping fast. 5 stars to Euooptic.

Very happy with this optic. As I get older and have an astigmatism, this sight will be a very big help. Build quality is very good just like all vortex products. Very happy with product and Eurooptic offered a very good price and super fast shipping.

Like a mini acog with less clarity , fast focus gets you in the ballpark. Near zero out of the box. Rugged turrets, heavy duty lanyards. Inner ring is a little thick while lit regardless of the setting, just about right while unlit - tradeoff? Firm dial settings spaced well with fluid transitions no abrupt eye wash, positively indexed. Dot is more on the tight side. Typical eye relief. Good sturdy flipups, solid riser. Well built. Excellent at removing grapes, clusters, or commas. Good height, less weight no longer need bus. One star off for clarity . Fills a do it all up to long range distance.

I put this prism optic on a Tippman Micro Elite 22 and am now able to swing the 2” plate at 100yards with ease. It is much more robustly constructed than the Romeo 5 I had to give up due to astigmatism. Eye relief is generous and the reticle colors, brightness, and sharpness are excellent. The glass is exquisitely clear. The turret caps are nicely retained. The adjustment clicks are audible but marginally detented, making adjustment easy to overdial. The price was outstanding. My buddy was so impressed he bought two. I am thinking about getting the AR model with the 223 ranged turret.

This is my first prism sight. The reticle is visible with the power off, and is incredibly clear and bright when on. Battery life is more than adequate, just not so long that you can leave it on between uses. Seems very solid, although I haven't beat on it yet. Everything feels very substantive. At this price, I am strongly considering buying another for a future rifle, since it is unlikely I'll find this quality at this price again.

This family has dozens of Vortex products, in particular 9 of these Spitfire 1X Prism Sights. This DRT(Dual Ring Tactile) reticle is fast to acquire your target; Both red & green illuminations are adjustable for differing light conditions; The etched reticle is clear, crisp, and a life-saver should you lose battery power. Reasonably good eye relief too. Europtic has the best price I've been offered and ships quickly with tracking info provided.

These have been around a while. I bought them because I like the etched reticle and the manual on off dial. One thing I did learn is these are not able to be used for co witness applications. The focus on the reticle will not allow you to see the back up sights clearly. And if you have a fixed front sight it just gets in the way of using the reticle view. on top of that they do not sit on center line of your barrel, a little left. This places the forward sight in the reticle view, out of focus on the right side of your picture. If you have folding back ups you could zero those first then clamp this on and zero it. If you ever want to use the back ups you will need to remove the Spitfire first, not an ideal way to have your firearm set up in my opinion. If you want to co witness and keep your zero efforts stable then pick another product. Best to plan on using this as your only optic if you buy it.

I purchased the spitfire to sit atop a 9mm carbine. A no magnification optic is ideal and I don't like to rely on a battery, this little scope allows me that option. The pcc is generally used between 20-60 yards on steel plates, the coarse adjustment of the turrets is acceptable but, 1/2 MOA increments would be nice. The glass is clear and the reticle is sharp and very functional for blasting steel plates while a timer is counting. My review starts at 4 stars just because it's a vortex and I only tried it because it was clearance priced. The mounting could be better, the point of pressure on the 1913 rail is very short and has only 1 nut for tension. For the size and weight of this optic, I would like to see a more solid mount. A history of having 4 of the PST scopes fail miserably has left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope this little scope changes my mind and doesn't force me to once again utilize that "great customer service" for which vortex has a reputation.
