Masters of trickle-down technology, SRAM has impressed us again with the GX Eagle AXS Upgrade Kit. We’re installing this on our bikes right away, ditching the cables and housing that clunk around in our frames all day. Long-awaited, GX AXS Eagle opens the door for a lot more than just dentists to have electronic shifting. So far so good

Bought this since it was on sale. Install went super smooth and everything seems to be working perfectly. Haven't had a chance to try it on the trail since it is winter and everything is still too muddy to ride but so far so good.

Only 55 grams heavier than mechanical GX

I replaced my worn mechanical SRAM GX rear derailleur, cable and shifter with this kit. Install was confusing initially but, in the end, easy. I weighed the parts I took off my bike (shifter, cable, tubing, and derailleur), which together totaled 480grams. So this e-shifting setup is only 55g heavier (~1/8th of a pound). So far, so good!

the shifting is instantaneous, crisp and smooth on jeep roads. not so much if you shift under load ( alot slower than shifting with the wired gears when under load) had it since Christmas '21 but the problems for me are the ergonomics. just cant get it to feel comfortable in my thumb. i had it attached to the break lever and it was horrible. used the stand alone clamp and got a little better but still not for a long ride. ordered the paddle kit to see if it gets better my recommendation would be TRY IT BEFORE YO BUY IT.

AXS has been the pinnacle technology in cycling for years and it's inevitable trickle-down has been a terribly kept secret. Now at a much more accessible price point, GX Eagle AXS provides the same crisp and reliable shifting as X01 & XX1 for much less. Get yours now before it's gone!

Engineering perfection

I was honestly blown away by my first ride on the GX AXS upgrade. I am someone who prioritizes clean, crisp, accurate shifting. Of note, I ride a 2018 ibis ripmo, and had a well worn XX1 eagle drivetrain. Over the past year I've noticed relatively mediocre shifting performance - mostly with poor accuracy when shifting under any modest load (chain and cassette still good, fresh cable/housing). It's mostly the derailleur that has taken a literal beating over the years- so many impacts and war scars. I jumped at the chance to try electronic shifting once I saw the price of the new GX unit. I also have electronic shifting (shimano DI2) on my gravel bike, which I liked. Things that surprised/impressed me: 1)setup: easy. Pair controller, set limit screws, b tension with included tool. A few micro adjustments (very easy and intuitive) and I was off. 2)smooth shifting under load - WOW!! I can churn up a steep climb, put the power down and still have a nearly silent, perfect shift. I have never experienced anything like this before on a sram drivetrain. 3)accurate perfect shifts. every. single. time. Makes for a quieter ride. 4)controller ergonomics: I like this paddle shifter. On undulating terrain it is so easy and comfortable to have my thumb sit right in the middle. This has led me to shift far more often than I normally would, as it is so fun and easy to do so. The buttons require enough force that I never had any accidental shifts. It's just so well designed. This is probably my favorite upgrade I've made to my mountain bike. If you can afford it and/or are due for a drivetrain refresh, the AXS derailleur is hard to beat.

This is a very early review but so far, it has exceeded expectations. Setup in minutes and the shifting in on point every time. I know some upgrade to the new rocker paddle, but I like the shifter it comes with...got used to it very quick. Hopefully it holds up as well as they claim.

Sram Does It Again

Sram recently released this new GX AXS Upgrade kit, and they nailed it! I've been running the previous XX1 AXS on my bike and it is flawless, the only issue with XX1 is the price! I definitely think it was worth spending the extra cash for XX1 because at the time i bought it, It was the most current and up-to-date. Sram took the fantastic X01 and XX1 AXS Kits, lowered the price, and packaged it down to the GX AXS, the workhorse of Srams drivetrains. Without sacrificing shift quality, The GX AXS kit just weighs a little bit more. Is there any plan to have a kit for a Gravel Bike with drop bars? I would like to replace my current SRAM Apex 1 on a Gravel bike with drop bars. The chainwheel is 40T and the cassette is 11-42T. It's a 1x11 configuration, but I'm assuming I can limit the 12 speeds on this kit to work with 11. If no kit is planned for drop bars, what drop bar Shifter I can use? It does make sense what I'm planning to do? Tks !

My current Mtb has a new Sram AXS Reverb dropper seat post which I purchased from you and I LOVE it! My question is: Will the Sram GX Eagle AXS upgrade kit work on my SRAM XG 10-42, 11 speed XD compatible only cassette? Thanks, and keep up the great work and customer service!
