Fell apart after 1st leg of trip

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought this pack cover for a 3 month trip to Patagonia. I have had trouble in the past with damage to backpacks when checking them on the plane and was hoping this would provide a solution to that issue while also doubling as a rain cover. Unfortunately, after the first leg of the trip (4 flights) the pack cover had tons of little holes and a few larger holes that had ripped open. This was a huge let down and forced me to purchase a very overpriced rain cover to use for trekking on the rest of the trip since this was not going to keep my things dry. If you are only looking for a backpack cover to protect your bag when checking it, I will say that it mostly succeeded, and I continued using it during the trip for this purpose. However, If you are looking for something to double as a rain cover (as this product promises) this is not the product for you. One last thing I will say about this pack cover is that the two straps are not ideal for carrying through an airport. The straps on the pack cover are thin and not padded so it was very uncomfortable trying to carry it like a duffel or sling it over my shoulder. I had to wear it like a rain cover and carry the pack on my back and wouldn't zip everything up until the last minute checking in. As for the sizing, the bag did fit nicely over my 65L pack with some extra room.
