It's hard to recover completely at basecamp when the frigid temperatures keep your legs shaking, unless you brought the Western Mountaineering Men's Flash Down Pant with you. With 850+ fill goose down insulation warming your lower body, you get the utmost recovery possible for the remaining ascent. And there's really no reason to leave it at home, because this pant weighs less than half a pound and compresses down to half the size of your water bottle.
The Flash features an adjustable belt that cinches across your waist comfortably, and the elastic ankle cuffs keep the pant in place and seal out that freezing air. Western Mountaineering reinforced the seat so you can sit on your ass as long as you need until your restful recovery is complete.

These run really long I I am normally in XL but I ran the medium with these and they are still long. They are much puffier than they appear to be in the photos. And I think if they where stretchy they?d be an incredible Pant. I do not like how shiny they are. But they?re definitely warm and cozy I don?t know that they are great for sports because they are so puffy and they?re not stretchy material. I think they?ve almost got an incredible product Here and they just need to refine it a little bit more.

Super light reasonably warm

I got these size XS for my petite and desperately cold hardcore backpacking wife. They pack down to nothing and weigh about the same as air. They make it possible for her to spend some time outside of her sleeping bag in the evening when we are camping at high elevations. She usually wears them under some XS Arcteryx rain pants and the down fully lofts.

Best over all pants. If you love there sleeping bags why not look into keeping your legs warm. It?s best over all. Great made and good workmanship.
