Very pleased to purchase the Flite XT Trail Quarter Crew - Closeout. Great price & quality socks. I did notice that the closeout quarter crews are slightly shorter than the current version but they work great & the price is right.
Good pari of socks. Great all season sock. Honeslty probably more of a summer fall spring sock than winter. Which is nice. alot of comapnies advertise wool as all season even though they are too warm for summer. These are thin but very comfy. Seems like the cushion was well optimized. WIll be great for hikes year round.
I am a real live human being, not a paid reviewer, although I may sound like an advertizement for the flight xt socks since I love them so much I keep coming back for more. I now have over a dozen pairs of these socks because I don't want to wear any other socks--for hiking, running, backpacking, mountain biking, and even wearing to work.
These socks do precisely what they were designed to do: keep the foot from sliding around in the shoe. I have very skinny, low volume feet, but need width across the toes. Shoes with wide toxboxes almost invariably are too wide through the midfoot/arch and heel areas for me, and as a result my feet slide forward and backward, and side to side, and my heels slide up and down. These shoes almost completely stop the forward and aft movement and improve the side to side shifting on all but steep sidehills. Heel slippage is also greatly improved. Shoes that I had pretty much given up being able to use for running or hiking, due to my toes sliding forward and ramming up against the toe boxes, are now useable to me. And I no longer have to tie my laces so tight that I end up with sore tendons on the tops of my feet.
I wear a womens size 10-11 and mens 8.5-10, depending on the brand and model, and the medium mens and womens large in these socks fit like they were made specifcally for my feet. They are comfortable and I like the color a lot more than I expected because I am not usually a fan of black or grey socks. The stripes add a nice splash of color.
If I had one gripe, it would be that the socks run a little warm for hot summer days (a benefit on colder days). I am not sure if it is the addition of the rubber, or something else, but they are warmer than the lightly cushioned CEP socks I was previously wearing. For those wearing CEP socks, the fit on the foot and amount of cushioning are very similar, but these Flite XT socks are a lot less slippery in the shoe and seem to have a little less compression. Despite the fact that they run a little warm, they seem to wick well because I never end up with sweaty or damp feet. I have been wearing them running and backpacking in three digit temps and have not had any blisters since switching to these socks.
My feet are happy. I am happy. Thank you Swiftwick!
I like these snug fitting socks for my daily 6 mile walks. I have narrow feet & loose socks cause lots of blisters, so the fit of my socks is extremely important.
These socks are great. Run about 8 miles per day with high humidity and warm temps, these keep my feet dry where others would be squishy 5 or 6 miles into my run. No issues whatsoever with blistering or fit. These are worth every penny, after trying I returned to buy 6 more pairs.
These socks are awesome! From the merino wool to the extra padding in the toes ball and heel & the ankle lock. They check all the boxes for me! I ordered 2 pairs then I liked them so much I ordered 2 more pairs.
