Unfortunately it is a dud..

The heel support is too high and stiff. Day 1 small hike (4mi) tabbed my wife heel raw… Unfortunately we’ll be returning…

Excellent tread & comfort

My trail running days are over due to back issues, but I needed a set of shoes with hard core tread so I could keep from getting pulled over by the 18 month old husky we just adopted when taking her out for pre-hike and before-bed potty walks on our sloping, wooded/grass/gravel/mud/moss covered several-acre yard in the NC mountains. I had been using some 15+ year old beater, bald, leaky Salomon XA pro's as yard shoes. She went after a deer and pulled me over a couple of times on a hill with wet or frosty grass. I did some research and sprung for these after several other near misses. I think these have better grip than my old soccer cleats and are extremely comfortable. No more slipping on frost. Could possibly use a tiny bit more arch support but not bad at all. I am tempted to wear them on muddy hikes but will resist the urge so I can preserve the tread as long as possible for walking & playing with our new steam engine of love on four legs! I typically wear an 8.5 in most shoes including Salomon, 39 in EU, and 8.5 in these works well for me with a variety of socks thicker and thinner. Not too tight even with the thickest wool pajama socks, and not too loose with tighter fitting cycling socks. Biggest gripe is that I wish the opening of the flap to tuck the lace lock wasn't so close to the top laces, but I rarely cinch the laces down. 5'3" and 135 lbs if that helps anyone.

Perfect shoes for winter!

I bought this shoes for wet and muddy winter in England. I must say they are perfect. I run on mix terrain, so always difficult to choose right shoes. But Wildcorss seems to be great shoes to run on wet rocks and muddy paths. I am very happy with them.

Go back

How I wish Salomon would quit screwing up a good shoe with new and improved. I loved my old Wildcross. I have had 5 pairs. But the new model does not fit or preform at all like the old. So sad. Please bring back in he old version.

Small toebox

I bought these Wildcross because reviews mentioned a roomy toebox and I'm a bit disappointed. The toebox is not small but it is neither roomy. My heels are very small and have quite some space (bit to much) but I would prefer a lot more space for my toes. Normally Salomon shoes (different models) last less then a year in quite good condition. The next year I use them a few months (sometimes a year) for dogwalks (2 to 2.5 hours a day) before throwing them in the bin... One pair lasted only 3 months another pair 3 years before they were demoted for dogwalks.

10/10 Mom's Favorite Shoes

Purchased for my mother, after she heard how much I love my own pair of Wildcross 2. Thrilled to say that she is equally happy with the shoes as I am. Very comfortable, good looking, easy lacing system, and lots of grip.

Not worth the upgrade

I now have four pairs of SpeedCross, the first of which I purchased by walking into a store in Salida, CO and asking what shoe might help me climb a 14er the next day. We screwed up the route, and 14 miles and 14,000+ feet later, despite every cell in my body hurting, I had not a single blister, and my feet felt great! Sold. A pair for work, a pair for trail running, a pair for hiking, a boot version for hiking in the snow. I've worn each so much the bottoms are bald. So, needless to say, I was pretty excited about this purported upgrade and purchased them for a multiple national parks hiking extravaganza. I even took the time to break them in this time, AND I was in some semblance of hiking shape versus that first expedition. Didn't matter. They absolutely KILL my feet. I spent the entire trip complaining about how bad they hurt and regretting not having brought a pair of my old, bald SuperCross5's. I developed a stress fracture in the top of both my feet, the arches feel like they have little marbles in them, and generally, I am just sad and bummed out that I ever dropped this kind of money to venture away from my trusty 5's. There is something very not right about this shoe.

Simple yet Fasionable

I bought this product to replace my Ultra W/Pro kicks after they were stolen (I guess this brand is worth taking!). Needless to say, I cannot complain about the quality and comfortability. I think it would be beneficial to add more arch support in the trail running shoes, but they are fabulous for any type of use!
