If food sticks to the surface or you notice a dull, gray color, repeat the seasoning process:</li> <li> Wash the cookware with hot, soapy water and a stiff brush.</li> <li> Rinse and dry completely.</li> <li> Apply a very thin, even coating of vegetable cooking oil of your choice to the cookware inside and out. Avoid using too much oil as it will result in a sticky finish.</li> <li> Place aluminum foil on the bottom rack of the oven (not directly on the bottom) to catch any drips.</li> <li> Set oven temperature to 350 400 degrees F.</li> <li> Place cookware upside down on the top rack of the oven to prevent pooling.</li> <li> Bake the cookware for at least one hour. Think so as long as you are careful not to scratch.

I have a Samsung stove with a glass cooktop.  I read the owners manual about what types of cookware should be used on the glass cooktop.  It says DO NOT use cast iron cookware on the glass top.

I use cast iron on top on my glass top stove but I am very careful about with it so as not to scratch my stove top.  I have been doing this for years and have not had a problem.  You just have to be careful.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!  I have had glass top stoves for the last 20 years and the ONLY kind of cookware that CANNOT be used is cast iron.

We would not recommend using on glass/ceramic stoves due to the weight of cast iron, which could lead to surface scratching of the stove top, as well as potential breakage if the cookware drops on the surface.

Does not leak. It fits perfectly from back to front. I already cooked steak and chicken breast on the griddle side. Not so good for scramble eggs, but great for bacon and sausages.

I love it.

My husband and I were commenting how nice it would be to have a griddle that spanned both burners so I was very happy to see this offered for review by the Spark team. Cast Iron has always been one of my favorites to cook with and this reversible grill/griddle is perfect. It is already pre seasoned so before the first use, I just rinsed, dried it and I did add a thin layer of oil. It fit over two of the burners on our stove perfectly and we used it twice the first day after receiving it, first for eggs and pancakes in the morning, then for ham steaks and sweet potato rounds for dinner. They turned out delicious. After dinner, I rinsed off and cleaned off any stuck on foods and reseasoned. With cast iron, I avoid soap and reseason after each use. The next day, we decided to try it on our grill. With this we got some grill marks without the problem of food falling through the grate. Again, very pleased with the results, we did both burgers and dogs. Love this! It seems very well made and a good size too, 20"x 9 1/2" so it holds a good amount of food. Again, just cleaned with a sponge, rinsed, dried and reseasoned. When not in use, I put it in a cotton bag, somewhat like a pillow case to protect from dust getting on the oil seasoning and from anything else damaging the finish. This is definitely a keeper, just follow the care instructions to take care of it.... I greatly recommend.

I recently received the “Reversible Ozark Trail Small Cast Iron Griddle.” I couldn’t be more ecstatic to use this griddle! I have been using this griddle all week trying to test out a bunch of different meals on it. One day I made pancakes, eggs, sausage AND bacon! I was able to make all these different foods using this ONE flat sided griddle to cook it ALL! The flat side is perfect for those types of foods. The griddle side works really well when we were making carne asada for taco night! This griddle already comes pre-seasoned with natural plant oil so that is awesome! The dimensions are 16.5 x 9 inches which is more than enough room to cook what you want! I cannot wait to take this griddle camping with us because it allows me to bring less items because this griddle can be used for so many things! The fact that it is cast iron is great because you know it is going to last for a long time! To clean this griddle all you have to do is hand wash it in warm water with a sponge. Do not use dish soap or a wool sponge because it can strip the seasoning off. Dry the griddle immediately and then rub with cooking or plant oil. Following these instructions will make sure your griddle will last a long time!

Love this griddle!

This cast iron griddle is nice for camping or cooking in the back yard. It heats evenly and is double sided giving you a smooth and a ridged side which is nice for camping and cutting down on gear. It is a few pounds so I wouldn't recommend hiking with it unless you don't mind the weight.

A great griddle!!

The Ozark Trail Small Cast Iron Griddle is pre-seasoned, heavy and sturdy. One side is flat which is great for cooking pancakes, hash browns, french toast, grilled cheese, etcetera while the opposite side has raised ridges to conveniently grill hotdogs, hamburgers, steaks and more! There are channels on the sides to allow for capture of grease and/or meat drippings during cooking. The Ozark Trail Small Cast Iron Griddle can be used on my gas stovetop or over a campfire. The thing that I really like about it is that if you've never cooked with cast iron, the label includes care instructions so you know how to clean it and season it, too.

I cannot wait to take this camping. I had never had one to take camping. This thing was bigger than I expected and so sturdy. I tried it on my stove first because it isn’t camping weather yet. I have a five burner stove top and wasn’t sure how this would do. It did great. Not big enough to reach two front burners but the middle and one side heats well. Seemed even. Easy clean up. The main thing is I wanted something that would hold up over campfire and not collapse. This will do the job. Going to figure out something to hold up each side over a fire. Great investment!

Nice sturdy

This Ozark trail cast iron grill/griddle is a great product. It comes pre
seasoned. On one side its smooth and the other is grooved. Since it
has rained non stop here I tried it on my stove . I put it over two burners and it 
worked great ! I will be using it on my BBQ grill soon.

This griddle is average quality but so inexpensive I feel it is worth its price. 
The pre-seasoned grill top is pretty light and you will need to re-season it fairly quick if you are a cast iron snob. But once re-seasoned its pretty good. 
My first play with it was a grilled cheese over my gourmet gas stove and the heat was well distributed and the browning was to perfection so I have no complaints there. 
I flipped it over and tried it for bacon and again, it did a great job so I have no complaints there either. 
I wish the smooth side was smoother it is rather rough and bumpy so I'm hesitant about trying it for pancakes out on the open fire. 
The size is perfect, stores well and yet large enough to accommodate a small group. 
In the serious campers world, Ozark trail does not get high marks but I think they actually did pretty well with this reversible cast iron grill. 
As i said if you dont mind re-seasoning it, Its a great buy and very usable.

Works fine for a small griddle with limits.
