The Salomon Adv Skin 8L Set Hydration Vest is uniquely shaped to provide you with a comfortable and secure fit for your runs. This unique shape eliminates pressure on your chest when it is fully cinched down. When it's cinched, it eliminates bounce while still allowing you to comfortably breathe so you'll barely know that it is there. The integrated soft flasks have a unique shape as well to match the contours of the vest so even when full, you won't experience uncomfortable pressure.
Aside from a comfortable fit, the hydration vest features multiple pockets that accommodate the snacks, chews, and other small essentials you'll need during your run. Additionally, multiple pole holder options allow you to conveniently attach and secure your poles when you don't need them. And finally, when you're out on longer runs or require additional hydration other than what the two soft flasks provide, an internal sleeve accommodates a hydration bladder to ensure you stay refreshed through the miles.

Hydration Vest
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- XS
After reviewing other hydration vests, I decided to settle on this one. I have ran a few 10 milers and a half marathon trail run, and this vest has been awesome! I'm petite (5ft4in and about 103lbs) and tend to have difficulty finding anything that fits decently, but this vest was great. It has stayed in place every run i've completed and i have not had any issue with chaffing. However, i will say the straws are very long and hit my chin. So far, i just tuck them underneath my sports bra and they stay in place with no problem. Plus, lots of easily accessible pockets. The back has a large pocket to put an extra bladder in if necessary. Would recommend again and again!

Awesome pack, size chart wrong!
I absolutely love this vest! It honestly feels like it’s not there. Fantastic pockets, lots of access while running, easy to hydrate while running and the overall design is really thoughtful. I would 10/10 recommend this pack BUT the size chart on the website it wrong! As many folks on this review and elsewhere online have noted the vest fits differently than the basic measurements, most notably in the back and arm holes. It is tight in both places. By the size chart’s standards I am absolutely a size XS (in the middle of the range) but when I tried it on it immediately dug in to the front of my shoulders. I ended up sizing up and couldn’t be happier. When in doubt, size up!

Been trying out this ADVANCED SKIN 8 SET specifically for women. I had only been using a handheld water bottle, which is simply not enough for longer runs, especially in this Virginia heat & humidity (I’m visiting my parents). At first I was perplexed by the long straws that near go up to my ears and was going to cut them...but I decided to experiment first, and am SO glad I did! The straws easily tuck in the straps and I wouldn’t want them shorter than they are. It is possible to cut them though, you can remove the mouth piece to do it. Probably easier to cut it out vs pull it off first. There is room to stow snacks and even my phone. There is even an area in the back for an additional bladder bag if needed. You could probably store a light layer in there as well (or instead of). It is a little hotter wearing this than not but not too bad. The bottles only leaked when I realized I didn’t screw the top on tight enough. I originally got an XS, which is typically what I wear in shirts and I’m only 5’2. However, I’m broad shouldered and it was too tight and definitely would not have fit over a layer. I got a small and it fits perfectly! I really like the way the straps are verses clip type. I noticed the clip types rub on clothing and create pulls. Who wants to ruin a brand new running shirts?! Not me!

Comfortable... with some adjustments

I've run in this vest for a couple of weeks, both short and long runs. It's comfortable and fits everything I need, including hydration, snacks, a jacket, keys and phone. It's nice to have the water bottles nested below the chest. My only real complaint is with the straws on the water bottles. They came extremely long and I had to cut off a good 4 or so inches to keep them from hitting my face. It was nearly impossible to get the plastic nipple piece inside of the straws to come out and I actually damaged one by using pliers. I wound up having the use a knife and literally cut them out of the straw. I then struggled to get them back into the straw and still can't get them all of the way nested inside as they should be. It would be much better if the straws were shipped disassembled so people could customize without so much work and causing damage.

Fits really well, but the straws are awkward
I have done a number of long runs wearing this pack now and am super happy about the way it fits. It's comfortable, doesn't move around and feels very light. I love the large number of pockets and the adjustability of the fit. The only problem: the straws. As mentioned by another reviewer here, they poke me in my face while I run. I've tried to cut one of them slightly shorter to avoid the problem, but haven't figured out how to remove the top in a way that would allow me to put it back on.

i forget i have it on!
this was money well spent! Ive had different types of hydration vests in the past, all uncomfortable, couldnt adjust to my torso length, bounces when i run...I think we all had that issue. My problem in finding gear is that im short (5'1")and have a short torso. I went by the sizing specs of the website (chest 34 1/2) and at first i was kinda wondering about it since it looked small , but when i tried it on, it fit like a glove! what i really like about it is that i the length is right below my rib cage and the water bottles are in these flexible type of bags so you dont feel anything stiff up against your body it almost feels like cushion. Ive been running the trails and no bounce! The material is very stretch and its so comfortable. there are a lots of pockets in the front, 2 zippered pockets on the side and also one in the back not to mention a section if you want to get a bigger hydration bag. Ive only worn this during the winter so Im excited running during the warmer months. I think the only draw back is that i wish it came with an instruction sheet on some of the features. Also the hooks to secure the cords to tighten up your vest, im not sure if theres a release on the hooks or not. Im kinda rough with it and it seems that with continued use the cords might fray and break. But overall, I really love it!

Awesome pack!
The fitting is perfect! the pockets seems a bit more stretchy than the previous Salomon Skin 5L pack I've purchased before this one. The blue ADV Skin 8 is awesome and I'm in love with it! the capacity and shape of the bottles are great and additional back pack pocket for extra water for the ultra races and long miles training. If you are thinking about buying a water pack, this is fantastic!

Best Vest
Best vest for adventures. Fits just right for a woman's body. Tight in the right ways, stays in place, not too bulky, and multifunctional.

I LOVE THIS PACK
I love the way the vest fits. It's great that the bottles sit to the side of my chest and not on top like the unisex vests. The straws can be cut and can be placed in three different spots. I am 5'8 and a 36C and wear and XS. I measured with tape before ordering and XS was the right fit. The deep pockets in the front hold so much and the side zip pockets are super easy to open and close while running.

Great fit and features! Capacity choices limited
This is a great quality pack with lots of features and a fit that is great for women. The only downside to this is that 8L is overkill for some people (and I don't like packs with more capacity than I need due to items bouncing around). I will say that if you have a high training volume or are running a 50+ mile race, this should work for you though. We women just need more options like the mens/unisex line! Ultimately I got the men's 5L version of this--let's hope that works out better and still fits decently.
