Teenager (and Dad) approved
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Have you ever tried to get a teenager to wear a rain jacket? They seem to think they?re immune to foul weather. With a trip to our family?s fishing cabin coming up, my 14-year old needed some rain gear and I wanted to upgrade mine. As I checked out the options, I took a look at the OutDry gear?perfect for spending hours in the rain, which we often end up doing. I liked the idea of the Eco tech shell, so I ordered the City Grey for me and asked the boy if he liked the Thyme Green version. I got a ?uh, ok? from him, which was better than a shrug, so I ordered the jackets and OutDry pants for both of us. No sooner did we get to the cabin than the rain started. I pulled out the new rain gear and handed my son his new jacket and pants. He checked them out and I actually got a ?cool? from him when he closely examined his new jacket. As I unloaded the car with our week of supplies and gear, I was happy to try out my new jacket/pants combo. A few minutes later, the boy comes out in his new rain gear and helped me get the cabin ready. After 30 minutes out in the rain, we came inside and were both pleased to find our clothes completely dry. We ended up using the jackets and pants almost every day?fishing, hiking and exploring. My son really appreciated having his new jacket and has continued to wear it since we got back home. I asked him what he likes best about it and got a ?it works and it looks cool?. A teenager?s endorsement?can?t do better than that!
